Tomorrow afternoon, after a tiring journey of many hours 33 Dutch students and teachers will land at Jakarta International Airport, to be welcomed by a delegation of staff and students from Sekolah Victory Plus. After collecting bags and immigration matters they will be bussing straight off to Fatahillah Square and The Jakarta History Museum (Museum Sejarah Jakarta) in the old town of Jakarta, otherwise known as Kota.
This will be the first of around ten days of their cross cultural stay in Indonesia. We have many events planned for them, including attending regular lessons at school, an overnight trip and trekking experience in Bogor to visiting Dufan for having fun on the rides. This is a reciprocal trip, because last year we sent almost twenty Victorian students and staff to learn more about the Netherlands, and preparations have begun for another return trip early next year. (in the holidays between Term 3 and Term 4).
This is just one way in which our school promotes International-mindedness and is an element of being an IB World School and being an active part of our Global Village.
