ANPS AGM 2015 Jakarta
Yesterday over 50 Directors, Principals, Head’s of School and other interested educators meet at ACS for the annual ANPS AGM. The committee of management presented their reports on various activities that we have successfully run, a financial report on the status of our treasury, shared some insights into the process of accreditation for SPK schools, the licensing and work permits of expatriate teachers the hiring and recruitment processes for SPK schools, debated the merits of students taking the national exams, despite it now being optional and no longer a graduation requirement from the ministry and other assorted issues.

ANPS Committee of Management were also pleased to announce several initiatives for the following academic year. Namely;

  1. a new networking forum for Principals, involving an email group and regular ANPS Principal Meetings,
  2. the development of a North Jakarta Sports Conference and further plans for an East and a South Jakarta Sports Conference,
  3. a new partnership with GESS and ANPS to jointly run an education fair and conference in Semester 1.
  4. ANPS have a committee of management member, Mr Darryl Forde, who is making himself available to all member schools as a consultant on a range of matters to do with education in Indonesia, in particular the new regulations.

ANPS also announced that the popular Early Childhood Teachers’ Conference will be back next year, and that Leadership forum may not be held in Bali next year. (I cannot confirm Lombok, but that island is a distinct possibility.)

Of course, if your school wishes to become a member and take advantage of the benefits that ANPS can provide, such as great conferences for teachers and leaders, advocacy to the government on educational issues, shared events via all member schools, accreditation, or advice on navigating the myriad of requirements on becoming an SPK school or hiring of expat teachers, please contact Ibu Maya, via http://anps-bi.org/
